Introduction
This is the first DevLog for team 9. I'm Kate, and Rhys is here, we've been working together for a lot of first year and now we're following the same trend into second year.
Rhys started with a desire to make something 2D as a personal preference. We've ended up discussing alternate movement options in 2D platformers (and this was before platformers without jumping was mentioned). So our first question was what ways can we give the player access to higher areas. In the end I looked at alternatives to jumping and Rhys looked at additions to jumping.
I'm going to be looking at whether or not a launch type control scheme works well. Rhys will be looking at how he can give the player control over a level to get more height, and we'll each be exploring designing control schema for those.
